Tata is fully prepared to launch the 2023 Nexon facelift and 2023 Nexon EV facelift in India tomorrow, precisely on September 14, 2023. These models, both the traditional Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) versions, have undergone substantial upgrades as part of their mid-life facelift.
These enhancements encompass several new features, an extended electric range for the EV, the introduction of a new transmission for the petrol variant, and a complete refresh inside and out.
Tata Nexon and Nexon EV facelift variants and colors
For the refreshed Nexon EV, customers have a choice of three variants: Creative, Fearless, and Empowered. These options are complemented by a vibrant selection of seven paint colors: Empowered Oxide, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Intensi-teal, Creative Ocean, Flame Red, and Fearless Purple.
On the other hand, the Nexon facelift offers four distinct variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, and Fearless. You can personalize your Nexon with a choice of striking colors, including Fearless Purple, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Flame Red, Creative Ocean, and Pure Grey.
Tata Nexon and Nexon EV facelift powertrain
Starting with the electric SUV, it offers two battery pack choices: Mid-range (MR) and Long-range (LR). The Mid-range variant delivers an extended range of 325km, while the Long-range version takes it up a notch with an impressive 465km range. It’s worth noting that the battery capacities for these options remain consistent at 30.2kWh and 40.5kWh, respectively.
In the Mid-range configuration, the new-generation electric motor generates 129PS of power and 215Nm of torque. On the other hand, the Long-range variant, featuring the same motor, provides a higher power output of 145PS while maintaining the same torque at 215Nm. Both versions support 7.2kW AC charging and 50kW DC charging, ensuring convenient and swift recharging options.
Furthermore, the EV now boasts vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-load capabilities, allowing it to charge other electronic appliances and even other electric vehicles. This added functionality enhances the versatility and utility of the Nexon EV facelift.
Under the hood of the Nexon facelift, you’ll find a 1.2-liter, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine. This powerplant generates a robust 120PS of power and 170Nm of torque. Additionally, there’s a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine that packs a punch with 115PS of power and 260Nm of torque.
The petrol engine offers versatility with four transmission choices: a five-speed manual, six-speed manual, six-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. On the other hand, the diesel engine can be paired with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed AMT, providing a range of options to cater to different driving preferences.
Tata Nexon and Nexon EV facelift features
In the case of the Nexon, Tata has introduced several new features, including a 360-degree camera for comprehensive visibility, front parking sensors for added convenience, an advanced telematics system, an upgraded nine-speaker sound system for a superior audio experience, and wireless connectivity for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moreover, it now includes a height-adjustable co-passenger seat and ensures safety with six airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and hill hold control, which are standard across all variants.
On the other hand, the Nexon EV steps up its game with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This system is equipped with integrated voice assistants such as Alexa, Siri, and Google, offering seamless voice control. Additionally, the Nexon EV now supports OTT apps, enhancing in-car entertainment options. The ZConnect connected car technology has also received updates, providing more convenience and connectivity features for a smarter driving experience.
Tata Nexon and Nexon EV facelift prices
Anticipated pricing for the 2023 Tata Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift reflects adjustments in line with their enhanced features and upgrades.
For the 2023 Nexon EV facelift, prices are expected to begin in the range of Rs 14.60-14.80 lakh, reaching up to Rs 19.99 lakh. These figures represent a slight increase compared to the previous pricing, which spanned from Rs 14.49 lakh (ex-showroom) to Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom).
Conversely, the new pricing for the Tata Nexon facelift is likely to fall within the range of Rs 8-8.50 lakh for the base variants and Rs 15-16 lakh for the higher-end models. In contrast, its predecessor was available at prices ranging from Rs 7.80 lakh to 14.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
