Actor and comedian Robo Shankar passed away in Chennai on Thursday, various news outlets reported. He was 46.
According to reports, the star, who was known for his performances in films and television, had a health scare early this week when he had been diagnosed with jaundice. He reportedly fainted at his residence, after which, he was admitted to a private hospital on OMR.
His condition reportedly deteriorated when doctors discovered he had also been battling liver and kidney ailments. Despite medical treatment, his health declined and he breathed his last at around 8.30 pm on Thursday.
Shankar is survived by his wife and daughter.
Early reports state that the actor’s final rites and funeral ceremony will be held at his Chennai residence on Friday. The ceremony will reportedly see his family, film industry colleagues, former costars and even fans in attendance to pay their respects and bid him a final goodbye.
