Indian Premier League aka IPL is all set to enter into its 10th edition – IPL2017 – in a couple of days. Now keeping the controversies aside that have plagued Indian cricket in the last one year, there is no denying the fact, that IPL always out-does its own ratings and is seen as a stepping stone for cricketers who want to be recognized as the modern era – BALL HITTERS!
However, there are certain players who have those specific skill-sets that make them all the more, let’s say – sought after or looked at!
Here are few such names which I think would prove out to be trump cards in the coming edition of IPL 2017.
Kuldeep Yadav
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to you guys. Kuldeep recently made his international debut in a test match against Australia and showed why he is one of those spinners that the whole nation is going gaga about.
An unorthodox spinner – aka- Chinaman, Kuldeep Yadav has all the varieties that can fool even the best of the players of spin. With a wrong one that turns a lot and a flipper that goes on fast straight with the arm, Kuldeep might prove to be a trump card for KKR in IPL 2017. Although he has played only four matches for them in the last three years or so that he has been with the franchise, but this year, with Sunil Narine’s prowess seemingly on the decline after the remodeled action, Kuldeep might end up playing a pivotal role in the Kolkata-based franchise.
Tymal Mills
Aged 22, a chronic back injury had almost killed his career, but then Tymal Mills made peace with his condition, quit his desire to be a test of one-day player and started focussing on T-20s.
Tymal was bought at a whopping price tag of INR 12 crore by Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the basis of one simple fact – HE CAN BOWL FAST! However, you would be wrong to think that he has only pace up his sleeves. Tymal has two-three variations of slow balls that foxed the best of Indian players when England visited India last year for a T-20 series, which makes him a difficult proposition for the batsmen. If that was not all, he has one of the best Yorkers going in the field, which makes him a complete fast-bowling package that teams
Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan became a part of history, the moment he was bought by Sun Risers Hyderabad for INR 4 crores, making him the first player from Afghanistan to have joined the IPL crusade. Not known for his big leg breaking turners, Rashid relies more on his faster ones and googly to fox the batsmen.
According to Rashid, “I try different variations during my spell and when I see that a batsman is struggling against a particular delivery, I bowl the same one but with different pace”
Well, these three are my picks, but do leave your picks for the players to watch out for in the comment box below.
Till then, cheers!
